Get Trained
First things first, CMIT stands for Campus Missionary in Training.
It is a full-time, ten-month training program designed to equip followers of Jesus to faithfully serve as Chi Alpha missionaries on the university campus.
THE VISION FOR THE CMIT PROGRAM
Accomplishing That Thing
By Doing This
WHY DOES THE CMIT PROGRAM EXIST?
Jesus once told his apprentices, “...the harvest is great, but the workers are few…” Jesus knows people long for a connection with God, but there are so few who are willing to show others the way. This is why the CMIT program exists.
Chi Alpha is an international missions movement centered on the college campus, empowered by university students. There are over 18 million students enrolled in higher education in the US and over 260 million worldwide in 2025. Chi Alpha has the vision to impact each one with the Good News of Jesus. How do we plan to accomplish this task?
We raise up and send out leaders who are willing to go and change the world in the name of Jesus, one college student at a time.
Romans 10:13-15
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
WHO IS THE CMIT PROGRAM FOR?
The CMIT program is for people who sense God stirring something and want to take a faithful next step. The program is tailored for any of the following:
Those who want to become a campus missionary with Chi Alpha,
Those who feel called to ministry and need time, space, and experience to clarify their next assignment,
Those who are looking for vocational missions experience to launch your next season whether in global missions, vocational pastoral ministry, or in the marketplace, or
Those who feel called to ministry and want clarity before committing long-term

WHAT DOES THE CMIT PROGRAM LOOK LIKE?
The program is designed to train individuals in many aspects of vocational, full-time campus ministry leadership. Therefore the CMIT participant takes on the work, challenges, and intensity that each campus missionary faces. This training takes place under the guidance of experienced campus missionaries that are nationally approved to offer a CMIT program in their chartered Chi Alpha group.
